Access⌐ Control Panel
---------------------
Many of the most important settings for Microsoft Access are
maintained in the MSACCESS.INI file. For example, the only
way to add new wizards or libraries is by using a text editor
to make manual changes to this file.
This program is used to maintain the more common settings in
the MSACCESS.INI file. A backup copy of this file is always
saved as MSACCESS.BAK in your \WINDOWS directory.
System Libraries
----------------
There are two settings in this section. The first is used to
designate the System library for access. The default setting is:
C:\ACCESS\SYSTEM.MDA
The second setting is the utility library you are using with
Access. The default setting is:
C:\ACCESS\UTILITY.MDA
Be careful when making modifications to these settings. There
is no editting done to ensure that the filename that you enter
exists, or is a valid Access library file.
Wizards
-------
The listbox shows all of the Wizard library files that you have
currently installed. If you wish to add a new wizard, enter the
file name of the wizard in the box next to the 'Add' button, and
then press 'Add.' When you add a new Wizard by this method, the
Access Control Panel automatically appends "=ro" to indicate
that the Wizard is read-only.
To delete a currently-installed Wizard, highlight the file name
in the list box and press 'Delete.'
Miscellaneous Settings
---------------------
Max Buffer Size: the size of Access's internal memory
buffers. The default is 512k and the maximum is 4096k.
Show dBase Deletes: Enter 'on' or 'off' to select whether
or not Access will show logically deleted dbase records.
Run Tutorial: Enter 1 or 0 to indicate whether or not
Access should show the introductory tutorial menu when Access
is first launched.
Start Maximized: Enter 1 or 0 to indicate whether Access
should start full-screen or in a Window.
Requirements
------------
This program was written with Visual Basic 2.0. It requires
the run-time module VBRUN200.DLL. This file is available in
the MSBASIC forum or the WINADV forum on Compuserve. The
file name should be VBRUN2.ZIP.
