  1. Access⌐ Control Panel
  2. ---------------------

  4. Many of the most important settings for Microsoft Access are 
  5. maintained in the MSACCESS.INI file. For example, the only
  6. way to add new wizards or libraries is by using a text editor
  7. to make manual changes to this file.
  8.  
  9. This program is used to maintain the more common settings in
  10. the MSACCESS.INI file. A backup copy of this file is always
  11. saved as MSACCESS.BAK in your \WINDOWS directory.
  12.  
  13. System Libraries
  14. ----------------
  15.  
  16. There are two settings in this section. The first is used to
  17. designate the System library for access. The default setting is:
  18.  
  19.   C:\ACCESS\SYSTEM.MDA
  20.  
  21. The second setting is the utility library you are using with
  22. Access. The default setting is:
  23.  
  24.   C:\ACCESS\UTILITY.MDA
  25.  
  26. Be careful when making modifications to these settings. There
  27. is no editting done to ensure that the filename that you enter
  28. exists, or is a valid Access library file.
  29.  
  30. Wizards
  31. -------
  32. The listbox shows all of the Wizard library files that you have
  33. currently installed. If you wish to add a new wizard, enter the
  34. file name of the wizard in the box next to the 'Add' button, and
  35. then press 'Add.' When you add a new Wizard by this method, the
  36. Access Control Panel automatically appends "=ro" to indicate
  37. that the Wizard is read-only.

  39. To delete a currently-installed Wizard, highlight the file name
  40. in the list box and press 'Delete.'
  41.  
  42. Miscellaneous Settings
  43. ---------------------
  44.     Max Buffer Size: the size of Access's internal memory 
  45. buffers. The default is 512k and the maximum is 4096k.
  46.  
  47.     Show dBase Deletes: Enter 'on' or 'off' to select whether
  48. or not Access will show logically deleted dbase records.
  49.  
  50.     Run Tutorial: Enter 1 or 0 to indicate whether or not
  51. Access should show the introductory tutorial menu when Access
  52. is first launched.
  53.  
  54.     Start Maximized: Enter 1 or 0 to indicate whether Access
  55. should start full-screen or in a Window.

  59. This program was written with Visual Basic 2.0. It requires
  60. the run-time module VBRUN200.DLL. This file is available in
  61. the MSBASIC forum or the WINADV forum on Compuserve. The
  62. file name should be VBRUN2.ZIP.
